Do I have to be able to run to participate in this event?

No, this event is geared toward families and runners alike. It’s a great course to run or walk. Walkers will start towards the back at the start line allowing runners to take off first!

Can I bring my child’s wagon or baby jogger on the course?

Strollers and similar items for children are permitted in the walker portion of the event only. We ask that you be considerate of the runners on the course and do not block their path. Please use common sense and safety while participating. Skateboards, bikes, scooters and skates are NOT permitted under any circumstances.

Why do I have to register my child if I’m pushing him in a stroller?

We must have a completed registration form and a signed waiver for every person on the course. This includes children. The registration for children under 10 is only $7. Your child will receive a t shirt and a prize for his participation.

Can I bring my pet?

 Sorry, in order to be considerate of all the attendees, pets of all sizes and breeds are not allowed. 

When is the best time to register for the event?

NOW! You can pre-register through our registration link! Register by April 1 to save $5 and receive a Caldwell College 5K Run/Walk for Autism t-shirt for 2013! T-shirts are guaranteed to registrations received prior to April 1.

How do I register?

Click on the registration link and you’ll be connected to our web page. If you prefer to mail in your registration, you can print off the PDF at our registration link and mail it to us. You may also register on-site the morning of the race.

What if I want to register a team? Or register as part of a team?

Sure you can register as a team, just follow the prompts on our registration page. You can also search and make donations to an existing team on the home page.

Are there any awards or prizes at this run?

Yes! Awards will be given to the top three 5-K finishers overall, in 5-year age groups, and all kids in the Fun Run/Walk.

Is this a certified course?

Yes this is a USATF certified course

Is this a Grand Prix event?

Yes, this is a 500 points NJ Grand Prix event

Is this a chipped scored race?

Yes, CompuScore will be doing all the scoring of the race by D-tags.

Is there anything exciting happening before or after the race?

Come early and receive a complimentary pre-race breakfast! We plan to have great entertainment, refreshments and lots of exhibitors for a fun-filled morning of fitness and activities for all ages, including a magician, a bounce house, and face painting.

Where do the proceeds from this event go?

All proceeds are going to the new Caldwell College Center for Autism and ABA located on the campus of the college. This state-of-the-art facility allows Caldwell College to serve the needs of hundreds of individuals with autism and help them and their families to lead more satisfying and productive lives.

How do I get my t-shirt and bib number if I pre-registered?

Look for the Pre-registration Area the morning of the race. 
Check-in begins at 6:30am.
You need to bring your photo ID to pick up the registration packet.
You may also pick up registration packet for others with a copy of their photo ID as well.

May I register on site the morning of the race?

Yes, you are welcome to register on site the day of the event but we strongly encourage you to register prior to the event.

How can I support the event?

Register!! Set up a fundraising page! Volunteer! Sponsor a runner or walker! Talk up the event to your community! Help us procure sponsors! We’d love to have your help to make this a fabulous event!

Is there a rain date or refunds?

This race is Rain OR Shine. In the event that you are not able to attend, your registration will be accepted as a donation to the Autism Center.

Do I have to sign a waiver to participate?

Yes, this is required of every participant…. children too. Each person must sign off on his or her own registration form.
